Why Artificial Turf

Artificial turf eliminates the biggest problem with natural grass in Oman: it cannot survive the heat. Natural grass requires massive water consumption, constant maintenance, and still goes brown during the summer months. Artificial turf delivers a green, playable surface year-round with no irrigation, no mowing, and no seasonal downtime — making it the only practical option for outdoor sports surfaces in the Gulf.

But not all artificial turf is the same. Sports turf is engineered to completely different standards than landscaping turf. Sports-grade products must deliver specific ball bounce, roll and spin characteristics, controlled player traction, adequate shock absorption, and consistent performance across the entire playing area. A cheap landscaping carpet installed on a sports facility will fail in performance, safety and durability.

Padel Court Turf

Padel is the fastest-growing racquet sport in the Gulf, and artificial turf with sand infill is the standard surface for padel courts worldwide. The turf must deliver consistent ball bounce across the entire court, provide enough traction for lateral movement while allowing the controlled slide that padel footwork demands, and withstand the constant abrasion of sand infill redistribution during play.

We install short-pile fibrillated and monofilament turf systems (10–15mm) specifically designed for padel. The silica sand infill is graded to the correct particle size for optimal ball response and player grip. Every court is installed with proper drainage, edge detailing and perimeter finishing to ensure the turf remains stable within the glass enclosure structure. Full court line marking to official padel federation dimensions is included.

Football Pitches

Football and futsal are the most demanding applications for artificial turf. Players tackle, slide, sprint and change direction at full speed — the surface must cushion impacts, allow studs to engage and release cleanly, and produce a natural ball roll that players can trust. Cheap turf creates dangerous playing conditions: carpet burns from slides, unpredictable ball bounce, and joint stress from inadequate shock absorption.

We install long-pile monofilament turf systems (40–60mm) with dual-layer infill — a base layer of SBR rubber granules for shock absorption and a top layer of sand for weight and stability. For facilities seeking FIFA certification, we supply turf systems tested under the FIFA Quality Programme that meet the required standards for ball roll, ball bounce, shock absorption, rotational resistance and skin friction.

Tennis Court Turf

Artificial grass tennis courts offer a medium-pace playing surface that is softer on joints than acrylic hard courts while requiring significantly less maintenance than natural grass. The sand-filled turf produces a consistent ball bounce with moderate speed — classified as ITF Pace Category 2–3 — making it suitable for club-level and recreational play across all age groups.

We install short-pile sand-filled turf systems for tennis courts with UV-stabilised fibres that resist fading and degradation under Oman's intense sun. The sand infill provides weight, stability and the controlled friction that tennis footwork requires. Full ITF-standard court line marking included with every installation.

Playground Turf

Artificial grass transforms playground areas into safe, attractive, year-round play surfaces. Unlike bare ground, sand or concrete, synthetic grass installed over a shock-absorbing rubber pad provides real fall protection — absorbing the impact energy of a child falling from play equipment and reducing the risk of serious head injuries.

We install playground turf systems (20–35mm pile height) over engineered rubber shockpads rated to the critical fall height of your specific equipment. The turf stays green and clean without irrigation, pesticides or mowing — making it the practical choice for schools, nurseries, public parks and residential compound play areas in Oman's hot, dry climate.

Multi-Sport Turf

Multi-sport turf surfaces host football, hockey, lacrosse, rugby and general recreation on a single field. The turf is specified at a medium pile height (15–25mm) that provides a balanced compromise across different ball types and player movements. This is the most cost-effective route for schools, community sports fields and facilities that cannot justify a dedicated surface for each sport.

We install multi-sport turf with custom line marking for multiple sports in different colours — so athletes can identify their playing boundaries during use. The turf is UV-stabilised for Oman's outdoor conditions and installed with a proper drainage system to handle flash rainfall without waterlogging.

Indoor Training Turf

Indoor artificial turf strips are a growing feature in commercial gyms, CrossFit boxes and sports training facilities. Typically installed as a 2–3 metre wide lane running the length of the training floor, these turf strips provide a dedicated surface for sled pushes, prowler runs, battle rope exercises, agility drills and functional training circuits.

We supply and install indoor turf strips in standard green and custom colours to match your gym's branding. The turf is bonded to the sub-floor over a thin rubber underlay for stability and noise reduction. Available in widths from 2m to 4m and any length to suit your facility layout.

Climate Performance

Built to Survive
Oman's Extreme Heat.

Oman's outdoor conditions are among the harshest in the world for artificial turf. Summer surface temperatures on synthetic grass can exceed 60°C in direct sun. UV radiation intensity is extreme year-round. Sand carried by wind abrades fibre surfaces constantly. Occasional heavy rainfall must drain instantly to prevent waterlogging and infill washout.

Cheap turf products imported without UV stabilisation fail within 2–3 years in these conditions — fibres become brittle and snap off, colours fade to grey, backing materials delaminate, and the surface becomes a safety hazard. The cost of removal and replacement far exceeds the savings from buying a cheaper product in the first place.

Every turf system we install uses UV-stabilised polyethylene or polypropylene fibres tested for 8,000+ hours of accelerated UV exposure. The backing system is permeable for drainage, resistant to heat degradation, and dimensionally stable so the turf does not shrink, stretch or wrinkle as temperatures fluctuate between day and night.

Infill Technology

Understanding Turf
Infill Systems.

The infill is as important as the turf fibre itself. Infill provides weight to hold the turf in place, supports the fibres in an upright position, controls ball bounce and roll speed, and contributes to shock absorption. The wrong infill destroys the playing performance of even the best turf product.

Silica sand infill is used for padel courts, tennis courts and low-pile multi-sport surfaces. It provides weight, fibre support and a fast, consistent playing surface. Sand-only infill produces a firmer surface with higher ball bounce — ideal for racquet sports.

Rubber granule infill (SBR or TPE) is used for football pitches and long-pile sports turf. The rubber provides shock absorption and cushioning that sand alone cannot deliver. Dual-layer systems use rubber at the base for cushioning and sand on top for stability and ball control.

No-infill or minimal infill systems are available for playgrounds and recreational areas where a softer, more natural feel is desired. These use denser, heavier fibres and a thicker backing to compensate for the absence of infill weight.

Sub-Base Preparation

The Foundation That
Determines Everything.

Artificial turf is only as good as the surface beneath it. A poorly prepared sub-base creates undulations, drainage failures, turf movement and premature wear that no amount of surface quality can overcome. We treat sub-base preparation as the most critical stage of every installation.

For new installations, we typically construct a compacted aggregate sub-base with precise grading for drainage, topped with a laser-levelled fine aggregate or asphalt layer. For installations over existing concrete or asphalt, we assess the surface for flatness, structural integrity and drainage capability — and rectify any issues before turf is laid.

Drainage design is critical in Oman. Although rainfall is infrequent, when it does rain it can be intense. The sub-base and turf system must drain water rapidly to prevent surface flooding. We design drainage gradients and install perimeter drainage channels as part of every outdoor turf project.

Turf Maintenance

Keeping Your Turf
Playing Like New.

Artificial turf requires less maintenance than natural grass — but it is not maintenance-free. Regular care extends the life of the surface, maintains playing performance and protects your investment. Neglected turf compacts over time, loses its cushioning properties and develops uneven playing characteristics.

Regular brushing redistributes infill and lifts fibres that have been flattened by play. Debris removal prevents organic matter from decomposing on the surface and inhibiting drainage. Infill top-up replaces material displaced by play and weather — particularly important in Oman where wind can redistribute sand infill unevenly.

We offer one-off maintenance visits and annual maintenance contracts for artificial turf facilities across Oman. Our repair and maintenance team handles everything from routine brushing and infill redistribution to seam repairs, patching and full surface rejuvenation.

Outdoor Surfaces.

Turf vs Natural Grass: Natural grass cannot survive Oman's summer without massive irrigation. It requires mowing, fertilising, pest control and seasonal reseeding — and still goes dormant in extreme heat. Artificial turf delivers a consistent playing surface year-round with no water consumption and minimal maintenance.

Turf vs Acrylic Hard Court: Acrylic is the better choice for tennis courts where fast ball speed is desired. Turf is better for padel, football and facilities where shock absorption, softer player feel and reduced joint stress are priorities. In Oman's heat, acrylic surfaces are significantly hotter underfoot than turf.

Turf vs Interlocking Tiles: Interlocking tiles are portable, require no adhesive and install over rough surfaces. Turf delivers a more natural playing feel, better shock absorption and superior aesthetics. For permanent outdoor sports installations, turf is typically the preferred choice. For temporary or multi-purpose venues, tiles offer more flexibility.

Turf vs EPDM Rubber: EPDM is the standard for running tracks and playground safety zones where specific shock absorption ratings are required. Turf is preferred for ball sports (football, padel, tennis) where ball bounce and roll characteristics are the priority. Some playground installations use turf over EPDM shockpads to combine both benefits.
